Very simply written and very light. Every chapter is basically a story that the psychotherapist is telling to his patient Damien and every story has a hidden meaning. The stories are very beautiful and inspiring. This is a great book.

Déjame que te cuente by Jorge Bucay (page 3 of 50)
A delghtful mish-mash of folkelore and parables, all explaining life’s quandries. Jorge Bucay, ingeniously, uses his characters, Damien and himself as conduits for this. This book was painful to read. Like a self help book written for middle re, and badly written at that. Oh, my aching head Books like this make you feel like you were sleeping, and suddenly woke up to something you already knew but dejam know how to approach.
Touching, thought-provoking and heartwarming: My all time favorite book, after Crime and Punishment from Dostoyevsky. Oct 28, Alex added it. Jorge Bucay is an Argentinian gestalt psychotherapist, psychodramatist, and writer.

Let Me Tell You a Story: Tales Along the Road to Happiness origina Jorge Bucay is an Argentinian gestalt psychotherapist, psychodramatist, and writer. Tales Along the Road to Happiness original title: The book consists of a good 50 chapters, each one containing a story.
Both the individual stories and the book as a whole are inspiring and full of wisdom and take home messages worth reflecting on. Moreover, even though he lives and practises in Argentina, his writings transcend frontiers and are of relevance to readers across the world, which explains his popularity in different countries.
Tales Along the Road to Happiness is by no means a self-help book. And, of course, is no substitute for therapy. Despite its title, it is not a shortcut to happiness. Yet, it can have therapeutic value in that it creates a space to allow the readers to reflect on their own emotional world. I found this book almost therapeutic. It probably helps if you relate to Demian the protagonist.
The book is about his sessions with his therapist Jorge who tells him little stories that are both inspirational and salutary.
While following Demian’s story of personal development and self-discovery I almost felt as if Jorge was also my therapist. This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. I never really connected with him, neither did I find him interesting. His personality lacks depth and it’s just hard to empathise. Jorge and the stories on the other hand were very lovely and touching, many of the topics had me thinking for days even after finishing the book and I hope that I’m able to remember them just as w I’d quue give it a 3,5 star rating, but since that’s not possible on here, it rounds up to 4.

Everyone who decides to read this book will dejamf something for themselves and as Bucay says you need to find hidden diamond in every story. Nice and easy evening read. Composed of short description of personal details of imaginary patient followed by a short story told by a psychotherapist that is ought to help client find an answer.
Really does have some good insights and advices.

But it touches upon so many things only briefly. More just a nice evening read to keep you company and comfort you after a long day. Many of these stories are a classic Perhaps the chapter that interested me most is about the different types of therapy, because I feel that I have done all three: Not the best Bucay book, but I liked it.
May 17, panela rated it really liked it. Jan 26, Jc Melgar rated it it was amazing Shelves: Dieses Buch hat mich in gewisser Weise auch therapiert. Es begleitete mich die letzten paar Wochen – doch die Geschichten werde ich bestimmt viele Jahre in mir tragen! This book is a crownjewel with a lot of information hidden between the lines even without the stories. If I ever need therapy for some kind of reason, Jorge Bucay is the man where I would go to, even without being diagnosed to need treatment.
